Part of the game for the NL is you can walk to face the pitcher, etc. It gives you more strategic options.

So maybe allow the manager also to bat! No point of pitchers hitting they are pitchers not hitters!

If you take the field, you have to bat.

It also forces the manager to make the decision if he wants to risk an out vs having his pitcher next inning.

He shouldn't be pitching. He just had a big personal loss, and if they'd get another pitcher to pitch today they wouldn't need one for game 6.
