I don't like pulling him. The one out he would make in a one run game seems less significant than the three or six outs he could've gotten.

Acc to this they should play 2/5 days and have more off days so the best pitchers can pitch more. I'm into no DH btw, but I think they should institute a rule in AL games that if a team wants their pitcher can bat and have a designated fielder (that way Arrieta or someone like T Wood can pitch and bat and someone like Heyward can just field).

Which is why teams that have a good hitting short stop are at a huge advantage. That doesn't apply to pitchers.

Madison Bumgarner, Jake Arrieta, Travis Wood, Greg Maddux. Also, some pitchers are good bunters.
