For the opinion that Wright shouldn’t have fielded the ball - there was a Yankee game this year, 2 outs in the 9th, man on 3rd, yankee batter hits a ground ball between 3rd and short. They both look at each other, the ball rolls between them into left, and the game is tied. You’d rather lose the game being aggressive than being passive.

2 outs makes the situation entirely different but I still get what you're saying.
Risk is opportunity

I'd pull McCullers if I had a bullpen.

You give up runs and you get to stay in. You don't give up any runs and you get taken out. Make sense?

While i agree with you that he pulled him too soon, mcullers didnt have a fastball so they could sit on his breaking stuff.

I thought so.

He wasn't pitching well at all, despite not giving up runs.  Disaster avoided.  Good decision.

"good hitting pitcher" is usually used as a relative term. These are terrible hitters all of them. Respective career OPS's: .555, .483, .537, .395. There are 2 active position players with worse career ops than Bum in 500+ pa... Michael Martinez and Tony Pena (jr)
Well good job with the stats. But what a great time to find the stat that proves one of the worst hitters in the majors got the last out last year. Also, it happened in an AL park where they didn't need to burn pinch hitters hitting for pitchers. Gotta love baseball in November!

Kind of, you should make moves based on what is going to happen, not based on what happened. I hear both sides but had no issues with his moves. I happen to like how Roberts managed the game too.

I think the glaring error was letting Darvish pitch to Springer.
