Anyone know why Price is starting over Sale? I'm thinking his plan is to pitch both of them.

I don't think he cares who pitches. He just needs someone with a pulse to pitch until Madson comes in.

they feel bad for price bc he sucks in postseason and has been doing pretty well this year so they’ll start him off-but don’t worry he’ll be out of there if he gives up more than 2 runs. If it would have been a tied series they’d prob start sale.

Also they have big edge being in Boston now..

Sale must be slightly hurt, price pitched game 2 and 3 and warmed up in 4, id be shocked if he has any length tonight, dodgers should score runs.  now that I said that he’ll throw 7 scoreless because that’s baseball suzyn

Whatever managerial decisions that Cora makes, seems to work every time for Boston in the playoffs.  Everyone including me questioned starting Price over Sale but through six innings, Price has given only a run and has outpitched Kershaw. He has pitched great.

15 ER in 15.2 IP over his last 3 WS starts.
A career ERA TWO FULL RUNS lower than his postseason ERA (over 145 IP in postseason).
When can we stop dismissing Kershaw's postseason issues as #FakeNews?

Does his decisions work because he is a genius or because he has the best team in baseball by far? Would his decisions still work if he was the manger of the Mets?

Why are you even hearing Red Sox fans in LA? I watched the GB/Rams game and heard the GB fans. Very sad!!!

they were there.
I actually felt honored that they brought up the Yankees name in the final World Series game. It shows they agree Yankees are the true competition out there.

Congrats to Red Sox fans out there

Btw I saw that too it was beyond pathetic. New franchise or not your team is 7-0... show up!! During big 3rd downs rodgers on sidelines was able to raise his arms Moses style to get the crowd loud! That takes serious chutzpah. It was basically a home game.

As a baseball fan, this free agency will be fascinating.  There are a few generational players (Harper and Machado) and a generational pitcher (Kershaw - though his shine is not as shiny) coming to market assuming Kershaw opts out.  Free agency dollars were tight last year so unclear if we are going to see a $350-$400 mm contract or if teams will be fiscally responsible.   Will be fun to watch.

Yankee fan hoping for kersh but expecting him to resign with LAD and/or harper - i just think his bat is a solid tier ahead of machado. Read an interesting article that made case that he and machado are SO young they should be signing short term deals and still getting a huge contract in a couple yrs. We shall see!

I agree with you.  As a Yankee fan, we need two or three starting pitchers.  I'd be happy with Corbin and Happ and resigning CC as a fifth starter.  Kershaw may be as expensive as Corbin and Happ combined.    I'd skip the two big bats.  And with regard to Harper and Machado, tough to sign a shorter deal and try to sign a longer term deal later if you have a ten year, $300+ mm contract, fully guaranteed, staring at you.

I think we'll see a 10+ yr deal with an opt out after 3. Kind of like stanton

First of all, y'all may recall I hate the Yankees, but if I were them, I'd stay miles away from Corbin. If they sign him, just hand him the Sonny Gray jersey; no need to make a new one for the same good-not-great-coming-off-career-year-in-small-market guy.

As for Harper and Machado, both made any team much better, no question, but are you dying to give 250-300+ to guys who have been notorious non-hustlers and at times, head cases (not to mention with Harper, wildly inconsistent)? Guys like Cano and Cespedes had been accused of mailing it in before they got their payday, and both contracts now seem dumb. Do you want to be locked into one of these guys for so much money/so many years?
