Amazing. Every projection had been Alonso, Smith, and some first round picks for just Frankie.
They got Carrasco too for less.
Well done team. Now let's play ball.

Of course, I'm sure many of you know the story, but it's worth repeating. In 1988, a minor league buddy of Tommy's asked for a favor. His son was playing ball at Miami-Dade Community College in Florida, and if no one else drafted him, would Tommy be able to get the Dodgers to Draft him. Tommy Obliged, and drafted him with one of the Dodgers last picks - 1,032nd overall.

A year later, the kid is in the minors, and has a chat with Uncle Tommy. He was a first baseman, and Tommy told him that first basemen were easy to come by, and if he really wanted to advance, he should become a catcher. The kid listened, and was brought up to the Dodgers in 1992.

If you haven't guessed by now, that kid is Hall Of Famer Mike Piazza.

This is very true - as the Rockies and the Astros are about to find out.

But to be fair, how many $25m+ contracts can a Team have already? Even the Yankees and Dodgers can't have that many guys at max deals.

Other than Bauer none of these trades worked out for the teams trading with Cleveland. And even Bauer was terrible in the second half of the season he was traded. Cleveland did not lose any of those trades. They might've been able to get more for some but they definitely won. As for Lindor, the Bett's trade set the market for a star with one year left set to make a ton through arbitration. I personally think the Indians did better than Boston.

Don't get me wrong, from the Met's prospective I love it and from the Indian's perspective I just like it. And as a Yankee fan I hate it.
