Questions regarding lead in house in NYC.
« on: May 20, 2013, 09:53:07 PM »
Anyone have knowledge of a way to fight the health department putting violations on a house that was tested positive for lead in nyc??

Thanks & really appreciate as the work required would cost around $13k. So it would save a lot. Thank again.

I am sure you are aware that lead is a serious problem and that you should really see to it that it gets taken care of. With that said, you might want to look into options that simply prevent if from being exposed. This should cost less than removing it entirely.

I Moved into house that's very old.  We are removing wall paper that was put up in the early 80s should I worry about lead paint under neath?  Should I house tested?

They have paint that covers it and dosnt let the machine read underneath it. Our walls got tested.because two.of my bros had something in their blood or something.
I belive my parents had a guy come down and he said it was from the dirt outside and not the walls so he told us how to get the paint and whta we can do to cheat our way out of this.
The city inspector put up the laser imprint that said.lead all over the house even places that didnt read because they want you to shave all the paint off, so we just shaved the imprints off and repainted.
I'm not who you think I am.

Pretty sure 311 will test for free. They just need to let your landlord know. Also if lead is found they may be fined or given an ultimatum
