Starwood points VS MR Points

I am looking to purchase airline tickets not sure which credit card to put it on either get 1X starwood points or 3X MR points whats a better move? Also if they are Delta tickets does it make more sense to purchase it on a delta amex?

AMEX points=1.5-1.8 cents
Starwood points=2.2-2.8 cents

By purchasing with a delta amex dont you get 5% cash back plus the miles?

Perhaps he's referring to the 5% AmEx OPEN cashback for Delta purchases (which was scrapped last year).
