I heard this directly from R' Laibel Groner.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe once got a fax from a woman that was in an accident/shooting (Don't recall). Her whole face was messed up and the doctors said she'll need 4 surgeries done on her face. R' Groner brought the fax to the rebbe. The Rebbe said that even though I wasn't planning on going to the shver (his FIL's kever) tommorrow (certain times he didn't generally go) We'll go anyways to daven for her.
The next day they went to to the kever, upon leaving, the rebbe asked r' groner to call the doctor for an update. R' Groner called and the doctor informed him that it looks now that she'll only be needing 3 surgeries. R' Groner repeated that to the rebbe. The rebbe responded tha't we'll have to go again tommorrow. The next day they went, R' groner called the doc. the doc informed that it now looks as if she'll only need 2 surgeries. The rebbe told R' Groner "we'll have to go again tommorrow. ..... till she didn't need any surgeries!

To be honest, R' Groner כבודו במקומו מונח, but I don't think this is the place to get into his credibility.

The details of the story must be mixed up, perhaps in his later years he mixed up different stories. I heard this story before and asked around and nobody has any recollection of the rebbe going 3 days in a row to the ohel aside from the time of the sforim court case.

The rebbe never traveled more then 10ft without every bochur knowing about it. The times that the rebbe did anything out of his normal routine is recorded in yomanim and articles and is known to many.

Another great story with my father was, we were in halo taimon awhile ago and some kid came over and said oh ur tuvia, im not sure u know but Oorah has this video, can we get u on it? They didnt really wait for a response. They say, if u won a million dollars what would u do....embarrassingly enough the answer was..."I'd buy out oorah inorder to shut it down!!"  Classic


All kidding aside my father loved the Lubavitcher rebbe. He was like a father!
