"Secure" Credit Card with Car Rental Insurance

Trying to help a friend of mine with a bad credit score/report due to 2 credit card balances going into collection (Totaling $7k)

He desperately needs to rent a car and cannot afford to pay the car rental insurance.

So the question is: from what gathered, there are some Secure credit cards with car rental insurance but not all of them accept people with negative credit.

does anyone have experience or knowledge in this matter? which secure card (with CDW) is more likely to accept him?

Not that i don't trust him. rather wanna get him on his feet while he does credit repair.

speaking of, can anyone recommend a reliable credit repair company? he received settlement letters from the 2 credit card companies to settle for $300 per card.. does that mean that after he pays he's done with it? or maybe after a while they can start harassing him again for more money? and if the $300 payment is considered a complete satisfaction, would it still show up as a negative on his credit report?

This thread is a bit bizarre. Anyway...you mentioned you wanna get him back on his feet, and the issue isn't trust, Here is a very simple option. Make him an AU on one of your credit cards. It will actually affect his credit report.
