Very very interesting. I wonder if other airlines would do the 10% of mileage as well.

In response to the OP:
I flew with my wife and infant on BA miles JFK-EZE-JFK and the total mileage paid was 84.000.
40.000 per each adult plus 4.000 (10% of the miles) for the infant. No taxes or booking fees for the infant.
Nice!
Park Hyatt Buenos Aires FTW!

Dan,
Are you flying down there anytime soon?
I would be intrested in reading your trip report, especially your thoughts about http://www.tucsonrestaurante.com.ar and http://www.asiankosher.com

Not if he  still has PTS. Or do different countries not count.

Nope, never been to EZE, but it's definitely on my "hit list"
Then again so is BOB, SYD, PVG, HKG, etc...

Shame you can't use miles to go to the moon.
Then again, you can't get to BOB either...

I don't have an infant, so I didn't bother reading.

To aussie: you can use miles to go into orbit with the SAS EuroBonus program.

The theology of the arguments are above my pay grade because:

The rules of the airlines states that you need to pay for a ticket. It also states that you should not sell your miles.

By law, you need to pay for a ticket. But the difference is class (or class within a class of service), is this the law, or airline t&c?

Respecting the t&c is for me impossible, as they are doing such weird twists, that I have a hard time respecting them.

To give an example of extreme craze:

With LX (swiss), its cheaper to fly BRU-ZRH-HKG return, then just BRU-ZRH return (2 days or less).

When I travel (with my kids) I only pay taxes, so those 10% don't apply to me b"h.

some european airlines have reduced award tickets for kids. Infants travel free if no seat is requested.

Which ones you only pay taxes for infants? CO, AA, US, UA ?
Thanks!
