NY to TLV for Succos on points in Biz, flexible routing
« on: July 15, 2010, 01:28:37 PM »
I am trying to help out a friend (fellow DD member "Smirk") and I ran out of ideas for getting him there on the regular routes in Biz (even coach is tough). I will try to give as much info as possible;

Leaving NY (JFK/EWR/LGA, PHL is doable) after Yom Kippur to arrive before Succos (9/19-9/21) and returning the week after succos (10/3-10/7) or even early the following week if it is a good flight.
2 Tix with minimal stopover in Biz - I already checked on *A and couldnt find anything except for Coach with long layover.

Seperate 3 or 4 tix that would prefer Biz for same dates (if none is found in biz then coach with normal routing will work) and have more flex and dont mind crazy routing (maybe even prefer  ;D) stopping in an interesting place along the way is great. These can be with 3 legs if necessary to anywhere in Europe (if buying a cheap intra-Europe ticket is necessary then that is fine) or even around the world through Asia if that is an option. Crazy ideas are welcome. The hard part is finding the Biz for long haul- I tried also from IAD and some others, thru ZRH,FRA,MUC,BRU...

Miles to spend;
 Over a million CO, about 300-400K amex, about 350K AA, about 100K AC, plus some 80K starwood if necessary to top of any accounts.
Would prefer *A obviously but if necessary then the others are OK and open to buy some more points or trade if necessary. Not looking to blow points that dont make sense.

(Paging Aussiebochur  ;D)

 I logged in as aPlat and all that was availble was a EWR-BRU flight on 9/21 getting into BRU @ 7:45am on 9/22,Problem is the onward flight leaves @ 7:40pm getting in @ 11:40pm I believe it will be YT then. Its in coach and an Elite has to book it , its not available to non-elites.

Now play with ANA to see if theres any way to get them from BRU - TLV to get before YT my gut says nope due to having to do another stop

 nope just the TLV-PHL-EWR on both 10/6 & 10/7 nothing else

But LO comes and goes every so often both to & from

I think people were getting nervous with so little being offered and are grabbing whatever they can when they can for Succos

 theers a # of flights in COACH but it will be bumpy

9/19 a non-stop US PHL-ZRH gets in at 8:25am om 9/20

 9/20 a EWR-YUL-YYZ-ZRH gets in @ 10:45am 9/21

 9/19 EWR-YUL-BRU gets in 8:35am on 9/20

 9/20 EWR-YUL-BRU gets in @ 8:35am on 9/21

9/19 EWR-YUL-FRA gets in @ 8:55am or (PHL-FRA 4:15pm-6:10am)

 9/20 EWR-YOW-FRA gets in 9/21 @ 6:30am Or via YUL and gets in @ 8:55am

 again all in Coach didnt click each 1 to see if they were X or XN (Elite)

 theres always 140k EasyPass on COs non-stops in Coach per person

 heres a BIG difference between DD and FT this would be Welcomed with Open arms on FT and I'll probably get tomatos thrown at me here on DD

 9/19 7:30pm-9:25am EWR-FRA (CO)

 9/20 10:25pm-2:20am FRA-TLV (LH)

 10/6 4am-8:30am TLV-FRA (LH)

 10/6 11:20am-2pm FRA-EWR (CO)

 only you have to use $$$ and not miles but its $5478 for 2 tkts in Biz or $2739 each very CHEAP for a r/t Biz tkt, so if it Must be Biz this is probably the cheapest way to do it. I believe this Z fare is non-refundable

 now if you can sell 200k for say $2800 then it wont cost anything and 200k is alot better then 300k EasyPass

I had the same problem trying to search for Jet irways to BRU but it doesnt come up even when searching thru "single airline method" It shows "-" which usually means N/A.
I searched on FT but couldnt find any info on this.

Ive found availability on BA business . Problem is that you can't use AA miles for BA flights across the pond and BA charges massive fuel surcharges.
Interested?
