On par with mainstream US hashgochas or no?
No idea. Hard to determine standards of a local hechsher abroad.

So you should probably ask your LOR for a recommendation of someone in Italy who he trusts and go from there.

Have you come across any more info about the kashrus standards in either place?

I will be taking a train from Rome to Naples and need to get to my hotel to Capri. How far is the ferry from the Naples train station? Is it easy to find a taxi or Uber to get there or do I need to hire a driver to pick us up?
Can anyone recommend a boat tour of the Amalfi Coast and of the Capri Island? I will be there from Sunday-Tuesday.

It's about 5-10 min from the train station to the ferry. There will be tons of taxis waiting at the train station. You can find many boats around the Capri port.

Thank you, so no need to pre book a boat tour of Capri and Amalfi Coast?

I've been several times. The restaurant is OK. There is a very limited menu of simple food presented nicely. The hotel is one of the best on the island. Neither are particularly exciting IMO. The Amalfi coast has far superior hotels but no kosher.
Can you recommend any Marriott or Hilton hotels in the Amalfi coast?

August is so overun by tourists and italians, that in Capri itself there's no space to walk….

I don't think so, I would book with cash at the port.

I don't think there are any. Amalfi is one of the most expensive places in the world.

Anyone ever do Amalfi with a 3 year old? Anything kid-friendly to do? Trying to figure out if I could do 2 days in Rome, 2 days Amalfi, and shabbos in Venice in a single trip.

Yeah, nixed this. Wouldn't rent a car so amalfi seems too complicated.

I've been to Rome, florance, and Venice but my wife hasn't. Was trying to figure out a way to hit up a part of Italy I haven't seen but also be able to repeat Rome and Venice for my wife. Any ideas that are doable for 2 adults, 1 toddler, and preference not to drive?

Trains in Italy are very convenient from city to city. Use Uber or transit in the city.

Anyone have any experience with receiving a speeding ticket in the mail (US) from a speed camera no pic. Was in a rental car.
Crazy fines! Do we need to pay it or can ignore it?

I got such a ticket in Florence and paid it. My reasoning was that the rental car company already charged me their fee, so I couldn't not pay that, and I would want to rent cars in the future in Italy. I didn't want to have anything put against my license/passport.

I don't remember, it was years ago. Sorry. I do remember that it was for 6 km/h over the speed limit though.
