You don't think that there are folks who don't keep track of what checks they wrote?
+1. I don't write checks too often so as long as there isn't a large check that I'm writing I don't usually follow through to make sure it posted....
+1I only see the old folks who use those boxes in the top of the book...
It is called balancing your statement. This is why young grasshoppers get in trouble. They have a hard time with simple math.
I just don't get it. If I give someone a check for a gift and they don't cash it in a couple months I ask them what happen. Most likely it was misplaced or lost but either way I still want them to get the gift (check).
Only one person I know who will ask what happened to the check, no matter how long after it is, and that's my grandfather. I vaguely remember that he asked me every time I saw him for months why they hadn't cashed the check he gave me for my school yearbook ad.
What's with everyone NOT cashing checks?
I recently found 2 cheques my wife and I received as wedding presents from friends of our parents, but never cashed. Their combined value is $375. We got married two years ago. Is it too late to mention to these friends that we never cashed their cheques and perhaps get replacements or do we just leave it and too bad on us?
I don't even have checks any more.I've had my current "checking" account for almost two years and I just never bothered ordering checks...
