I'd have no issue with a tour where the largest it'd be would be 6. Good reviews, $25 airport, and $100 tour sounds good to me.
Thanks for your input. Here's hoping the group stays small to nonexistent (just me). What's the best way get in touch with Dini's/Chabad? I emailed both Chabad's on Sunday and haven't heard back.

Does anyone know when the 72 hours to enter Beijing without a visa starts?
several places online say it starts at 00:01 the following day (night) but other places don't mention it, or say it's 72 hours from the time of landing.

(I just called the visa department and they don't know (or didn't understand) lol)

Only applies to Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Nanjing, not Beijing.
Your right. Posted in wrong thread. I couldn't find a general China thread.

Looking for a reliable VPN service in Beijing. Also, will it work on a MiFi or SIM only?

ExpressVPN worked great. 30 day free trial.

Thanks, I'll look into it!

I'm assuming the VPN apps can work over a mifi/wifi device or whatever?

App works on Android, Windows, MacOSX and iOS. Since it needs to be installed and you normally can't install apps on a mifi/wifi device I don't know if it'll work.

Sorry, I mean if I install the VPN app, it shouldn't have a problem connecting to a normal network or broadcasted mifi/wifi?

Data point for Beijing:

Hilton Diamond staying at the Doubltree by Hilton (in the business district, but cheap redemption and solid reviews) and I emailed their concierge requesting a kosher breakfast, as Diamonds are entitled to a breakfast and just this morning they confirmed my request and will be getting it from the Chabad.

Never hurts to ask!

PH also got a kosher breakfast. The chef at the hotel was a pleasure to deal with (he's European FWIW).

Do you need to be Diamond to get the kosher breakfast at the PH? What do they serve?

Yes. They gave me a few choices and I got all of them except the hard boiled eggs.

Thanks. Did you need to request the kosher breakfast in advance? How was the hotel overall?

Yes. They have to order it from Dini's. The hotel was one of the nicest city hotels I've been in.
