When making an ice cream mixture do you have to put the mixture  in the fridge before it goes in the machine?

I bought the Klein's mix last week in Brooklyn and just want to share a few things.

Firstly, I first walked into the warehouse and they told me that they carry the Mixtures in the store itself, so don't feel pressured to make it to the location before the warehouse closes (5 PM) because I believe the store stays open later.

Secondly, Dan reported that he had purchased the ice cream for $11--it seems that the price has gone up because mine cost $14. Also, Dan implied in the post that one may be required to buy a pack of four; however, this is not the case as you can purchase them individually.

One question: How much Mix do you typically pour into the machine? Half a cup or a full cup? Please let me know.

Have a great day and can't wait to start enjoying my Dan's Deals ice cream.

I am having a hard time figuring this ice cream machine out. The ice cream, I am making doesn't seem to have the right consistency.

Can someone please tell me their recipe when using the Klein's ice cream mix? What ratio do you use? Also, how do you ensure a good consistency?

Thanks

I use
2 cups fat free half and half (can use heavy cream instead)
1 cup milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp vanilla
Pinch salt

Add raw cookie dough, cookies, chocolate chips and anything else you like. It's excellent

@ZevWolf  It means that its ready.

I am eating the ice cream right now--pretty good. However, not as many servings are made as I initially thought when I purchased the Ice Cream Mix. Still seems to be a good buy though.

I added some peanut butter in--yum.

This ice cream machine is a gift that keeps on giving. I just picked up 4 cartons of ice cream mix from Klein's in Brooklyn (48 in total for huge cartons), and I am enjoying the Ice cream immensely. Great Investment. Thanks Dan

Yup, great machine. And you can mix in your own flavors.
Fraction of the cost of going to the ice cream store.

I didn't buy it last year, and I'm trying to hold out now.
I don't want oodles of ice cream sitting in my freezer! ;)

Is the mix a liquid or a powder? What ingredients do you need to add to the mix when it goes in the machine? (Dan's post seems to imply no additional ingredients needed).
