i got news for you, there are loads like him, halten fin gornisht & shokel along like zombies, the only difference between him & them is they kept the levish
My FFB black hater yeshivish cousin teaches in some Chassidish schools and loves to tell me the stories of how the kids ask him if he's frum because he has a closely shaved face beard or doesn't wear a beketche.
My G-d forgives very easily.
You mean Tuna Beigels? Of course there are. But lets be honest, if you succumb to desires to experience the outside world, the Gemara has a suggestion for you, Yatil Shchoirim v'yailech l'makom rachok. Do what you gotta do to get it out of your system. No reason to go OTD. My G-d is not as vengeful his. My G-d forgives very easily.
Just for the sake of controversy I will say my belief: Chassidim who go OTD would not have, had they been in a litvish society. Litvaks who go off would not have, had they been in a chasidish society. ודו"ק
I see where you're going with that but I have to disagree. It's often the same closed-mindedness that causes kids to leave in both the Chassidish and Litvish worlds. Take this one for example.
It's one thing to leave (unfortunately), but another to do it in the way that she chose. Even if she doesn't believe in religion/G-d, humiliation to the family does not rack up points in the secular world either.
He's an atheist... Maybe he's saying that if he would've been more sheltered, he wouldn't come to this conclusion?
That sounds wrong on so many levels...
If you learn up those gemoros it seems that the point of yatil shchorim is that he won't actually end up doing the averya.
Out of a class of 25 boys in my yeshiva days we have chasidim, litvaks, tuna beigel types (although I'm a dinosaur ) and 1 OTD. He experienced the same or similar childhood experiences that we did. Why is he OTD...because thats a choice he made. Period.
Excuse my ignorance?
