You get to max out the 5 point bonus category 2X instead of just once.

They didn't let me downgrade to freedom. Only registered sp.

Will Chase allow you to downgrade SP to Freedom if you already have a Freedom? (Seems Cozmohoot was not allowed...)

Yes.

He probably wasnt allowed because your SP officially needs to be a year old to downgrade to freedom
