Since when has it become a pant?
I remember buying a pair of pants, and bringing pants to the cleaners.
In a store recently, the proprietor went to get the 'pant' my son will like.
And in an ad this week I saw them pushing a slender cut pant.
If you wear a pant on one leg, what will you wear on the other?

But why should you always be required to buy both pants?? It's a complete racket, a scam devised by the garment industry. One should have the option of buying a single pant, trouser, slack, or underpant. This would also create some variety, as we would be able to wear two different pants (though I don't know where you would buy the top part separately).

It can be placed between any two words in the sentence, and each place you put it the sentence will have a different meaning.
