I don't think there should be a space in between the "+" symbol and the numeral.
That's incorrect usage of the term "in between." It should have a simply said "between."
If you don't care why would you comment?

Last time I checked the phrase "in between" appears in the The American Heritage
Dictionary of the English Language (Fourth Edition, 2000), which
suggests that there are cases where it is proper to use it.

eg: Adolescence is an awkward, in-between age.
