Please don't insult the beaches of South Floridai! ;D

The only things to see in Eilat is the underwater reefs/diving or whatever, and perhaps Hai Bar and Kings City biblical theme park.

Otherwise it's a poor ugly city (outside of the immediate hotel area).
I found Eliat awesome.
I did Chai Bar, Scuba diving, snorkeling, king solomon copper mines, but I don't think it is worth the trip if you only have a week.

How'd you enjoy the sandy err I mean rocky beaches?

ETA-  If you haven't been snorkeling/scuba in an actually exotic place before I guess I can see the appeal.

Agreed. And the Kineret is the only water I enjoyed swimming in.

I actually loved the salty water in Eliat, it was so blue.

Eilat is great for the underwater life. And the awesome dark blue color of the water. Water sports are fun there as well.

Tel Aviv is great for swimming especially with kids since the wave breakers.

Ashdod is fun with a galgal yam to enjoy the crazy waves.

And the Kineret is just perfect.
