I don't think nu nu can be accurately translated. As it requires the proper intonation, and has several overt and covert meanings.

For the record, I agree that it is a pretty accurate translation, as that expression in English too, can have some overt and covert meanings inferred. Though in Yiddish it is much richer (if only for the fact that it is so much more terse).

This calls for some חקירה.

As per Wikipedia: ״The Greek word gnosis (knowledge) is a standard translation of the Hebrew word "knowledge" (דעת da`ath) in the Septuagint, thus: The Lord gives wisdom (sophia), from his face come knowledge (gnosis) and understanding (sunesis)" — Proverbs 2.6. Philo also refers to the "knowledge" (gnosis) and "wisdom" (sophia) of God."

Is חקירה the search for חכמה, בינה, or דעת? I would argue that דעת (or more accurately מדע or ידיעה) is what is being sought by חקירה, which would make the word Philosophy (based on its Greek source - which translates "love of wisdom") inaccurate.

OU is the way the hechsher is read.  On the package there's a U inside a simple circle.  Similar to the way a registered trademark has an R in a circle.
DE - dairy equipment.  Food made in dairy equipment is not actually dairy, but cannot be eaten with meat/chicken.

Many people here who are careful about CY will not eat something that is qualified as DE, while they might eat other things certified by the OU.
