Yanover=Italian from Genoa (which was traditionally the place where the merchants got their produce from the Calabria region).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

This thread has me confused. They are talking about "sets" and costing hundreds of dollars. I thought they were talking about the citrus fruit.

In the US, most people shop for the Esrog, and get a Lulav (frond of a date palm, which needs to be fully closed and straight) as well as Hadassim (myrtle branches) included (as the price of the latter two (used to be) rather negligible.

In Israel, each item is traditionally purchased separately.

In recent years, there has been a market for pre-inspected high quality Lulavim which are purchased separately from the sets.

For interesting information including multimedia on the Yanover/Calabria Esrogim see: http://www.esrogim.info/

Also see:
(and probably many others).

I guess it is easy to make fun of someone's religion when it is not your own.

I'm sorry if I offended you, my intention was certainly not to mock your religion. I would've (and probably have) given the same type of answer for a similar situation with a Jewish term.
(If I was trying to mock anyone/anything it would've been @jj1000 , I mean c'mon, is it really that difficult to google "trinity?")
