best concierge service?
« Reply #2 on: October 12, 2011, 10:24:40 AM »
I have Amex platinum but dont really want to pay the $450 annual fee anymore. Do all the major CC's (amex plat, visa signature) etc contract all their services to the exact same concierge provider? If not, which one is the best?

If so, then I'll prob let my platinum go.

Funny thing: My Chase CO and UA cards have concierge service, but I have no idea how to utilize the service. What would 'best concierge service' even be?
Anyone here USE these services? What for?

I've used my Visa Sig concierge a few times, and I was left utterly unimpressed each time.

Have yet to use the AMEX Plat concierge service, so cannot comment.

complaints on amex/concierge
« Reply #7 on: January 09, 2012, 02:14:47 PM »
[sorry for the long post]
owning amex plat for 7.5 yrs, recently had a couple of annoyances with them,
1)I gave in a request to amex concierge, for a gift recommendation in the uk, it took them as much as 6!!! days to get back to me although I told them its urgent
2)also with concierge that time I gave another request for something in Israel, they NEVER got back to me,  I called up +spoke to a supervisor  'elin peterson' who later emailed me that she's "apologizing for the inconvenience" and confirmed that by the 1St incident "your request was unfortunately subject to poor staffing and handled improperly" and on the 2nd time, "research was not even done ...the lack of attn to your request is very concerning...this is not typical for platinum concierge" ......bla bla I wont bore u with
3)rd incident was when I accidentally realized that on AU on my plat didn't receive any points for the purchases!!! for over a year [and spending 60k] when I called MR I had to fight it out unroll they agreed to give me the points

now what would you guys do in sucha sit ? call'em up give'm he... untill they reimburse you the right way correct?
now which Dep should I call, regular supervisor, which doesn't sound to promising, or a higher-up no. like the executive office etc. and give'm a mouthful how I didn't get my moneys worth with the SO PRESTIGIOUS ;-) platinum card ?

Barring some unforeseen miracle, you're not getting your annual fee back.

How many points would make you happy?

Not at all. I'm just curious what he's looking for in terms of "reimbursement" for his troubles.

Perhaps you should write them a letter and say you want to be compensated for your bad experiences.

10Q sooo much AsherO,finally some1,

so you think I'm better off writing to them, then calling?
by writing they might respond with some compensation not so much to my liking, while calling I can push them for more,
or how about calling 212-640-5583 [amex executive cs office]
