I've tried asking this Q before but got no answers. I understand no one can give me a straight yes or no but I'm hoping I can get some incite so I can make an informed decision.


            I have a UA award ticket for LH that was priced right but the wrong number of miles were taken out of the account.

       First opened up for the way there and I'd like to change it from Business but not at the risk of them realizing their mistake.

When they change a ticket do they automatically put in the amount of miles that Business was and then take out the amount for first? Or will they just put in half of what they actually took out?


Sorry if this Q sounds confusing. Not sure how else to ask it.

Either they will request the difference between what you paid and the amount required for 1st
Or they will redeposit the miles and take out the required amount
Either way you will lose.

They won't redeposit the whole ticket, will they ? On the receipt it shows I paid the right amount.

if UA works like US they will re deposit the miles and then rebook you. (Hoping the itin is still there).

I don't get it, change the ticket and they will only deduct the miles difference between what it shows on the receipt and the first class fare.
