Removing a watermark from a photo
« on: June 05, 2013, 02:37:54 PM »
I have a picture that has a watermark on it. This is the only remaining copy of the photo. Is there a (free?) way to remove the watermark?

There is no natural way to remove a watermark. The photo would have to be touched up in Photoshop manually by a graphic designer.

That means a professional would have to do it for it to get it somewhat back to its original status?

Np, just being honest. It's actually a somewhat difficult task, and depending on how many shades of color there are beneath the watermark, it can get very difficult.

It really depends on how complicated the main photo is. I learned to remove  watermarks (and the rest of ps) by simply watching YouTube videos.

Its a old family peronsal photo. Not something I want on the public forum. But I appreciate the suggestion. I will try youtube and see if there is anything I can glean.
