HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Did anyone else have Citi leave a message on their machine over Shabbos.

I know of 3 people that did.

Guy was talking so low, no one can hear the callback #.

I don't see how people can be condescending here when these same guys apply for Amex plat cards in Dec to get the 200 credit times 2 using the PGGM and then cancel. That's ok but not paying the AF according to the Citi terms when someone may actually need the money isn't ok. This isn't milking them for money like the Amex credit I am simply avoiding the AF.
Do as I say not as I do.  :P
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Me and my wife maxed out last summer our 4 Citi personal and 2 Citi business cards with a total cl of $41,200, x3 months in a row, that's $123,600 charged in a short 13 weeks... and the payments were made from a 3rd party congregation account... (actually from the same account it went into in the first place ;D) and Citi didn't make a peeps.

(While our amex cards were hit with a fatal FR for doing the same..)
And you were A/A'd as well  ;)

I'll blame that on paying with 3rd party checks, I doubt they decided to shut me down last week for some 4 month old sin..

It would need to be within 30 days of the AF posting. Catch is that you must earn the points in the statement prior to the AF posting or else you won't get the points.

Update:
I spoke to another AA representative just now who seemed to know what he was talking about.
He said that AAdvantage "upgraded" their system beginning of November 2013.
Any miles from CitiBusiness Accounts opened after that time are not being accepted by the new system.
They are working on the issue, but have no idea when it will be resolved.
Only problem with that theory is, that I'm having the same issue with a personal executive account
Well, my new theory is that if affects any account which didn't include a FFN on the application.
Does anyone have any data on that?

OK, so it is just plain random.
I guess that only makes sense for Citi.
