HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

A few of my relatives (different addresses) applied from the same computer. (I think it was different ip addresses). Everyone had to verify the home phone number thru the fraud dept.

Did anyone else have to verify the home phone number, by citi calling them at home?

They also asked everyone, if they applied themselves.
anyone?

The only thing a HUCA for sure can't do... is hurt.

CITI sucks!!!
Card finally came today.
Statement closes tonight.
Their website stinks (too much clutter).
Chat could not help me push off statement, told me to call.
Was on hold for a while, then all of a sudden i hear a dial tone.
On phone now, "sorry can't change anything... not the statement date.. not the AF"
What could you do CITI??

As your gonna have a really short statement, I wouldn't expect the annuel fee this month.

You are 100% right. Just got off, they confirmed that it will post in the March statement.
More good news confirmed: $200 credit is for ANY purchase.

don't activate and fight the fee
It all works out + extra month - as ARI2955 guessed. Its already activated and half way spent (CVS didn't let more then 5k)

Clearly YMMV because some people as you point out didn't get the AF while others did. OTOH I didn't get the 200 dollars yet while others did. I was saying not to trust the reps because I was told that the AF wouldn't post and it did.

4 day statement and my AF posted and no $200 credit.... But keep in mind that you have 30 days to inform them I want to cancel from the stmt mailing date mine wasn't even sent out yet so technically u should really have ~33 days to close once the AF posts!
