HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

-1 if you have a email address linked to your citi aa is able to look it up. Don't even know if that's required but that's what they did for me.

Do you have to spend 10k 0r 10.2k cuz of the statement credit? Also is it better for my credit to pay off part of 10k before statement or it does not make a difference?

Many reports on FT of this card being churned although it's to early to confirm that they will get the bonus twice. Citi usually gives you the miles if you get the card so it more than likely that it's possible.

Did everyone get this nice case with the card? (I didn't. Looking for a reason to ask for more points ;D)
So I complained via SM and This was the response:

"Congratulations on becoming a Citi Executive AAdvantage account holder.

Due to unexpected circumstances, the Welcome Kits are being delayed. Once they become available, one will be sent to you as soon as possible.

We apologize for the delay."

Not what I was hoping for...

Just be clear with what you want. Tell them how embarrassed you were not getting it, and you expect 25K miles.

I got may things from Citi by insisting. Just tell them you don't want to go in circles and need this escalated. They hate when things go in circles.

1. 10k is enough.

2. There might be a difference in the very short term, depending on your overall credit utilization, but overall it's no difference.
