Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

It was posted on a different blog saying they thought it may be end of March. Reasoning was they received this offer in the mail and it was expiring end of March...
Makes sense unless it was individualized to the person receiving the mailing

Duplicate from having one executive card prior.

Come to think of it, the second executive application violated the "65 day rule".
On the other hand, the "65 day rule" didn't seem to stop Citi from approving my application.

Was the second approved in the end?
If not, pretty obvious. The 65-day rule is a hard-coded rule for all cards.

Hard coded as in unbendable? I thought the rule was 8 days. What is the 65 day & 90 day rule?

Every man to his own style.
Just saying that with these duplicate rules they don't seem to work with u- & in my case just drew  more attention 2 the issue. But by all means knock yourself out . U can even get thru to the rep handling the acount ..

FT Wiki:
"Only 1 Citi application of any kind per week (8 days to be safe).
No more than 2 Citi applications of any kind in 60 days (65 days to be safe).
No more than 1 Citi business application in 90 days (95 to be safe). This does not override the rules above.

While the day limits are a little flexible by a few days either way and YMMV, the rules themselves are not flexible. Note: In applying the rules above, count all Citi applications, including denials and/or applications for non-AA cards."

Sorry if I wasn't clear.
My second executive was third application within 65 days - approved.
My spouse's executive was third application within 65 days - denied.

Typing a letter and putting it in the mail.... hmmmm.
Didn't know that is knockout work.
Maybe I need to spend more time on DDF.

Is there a points bonus for spending past the initial promotion threshold (e.g. If you spend $20k in a year on the card you get another XX,000 points)?  If so, what is the total spend and points awarded?

Not really.
But I preemptively told them that I want to replace one of my old vanillas with an executive. So she never was looking at it as getting another account, rather, like replacing an existing account.

They told me that I have 4apps from November & 3 from jan! ( think they have 2 b duplicates though they insist they aren't )... There r 2 apps on 1/21 4 buiz cards. Does that mean that I have to wait 90 days 2 apply 4 exec or 65? The annoying part is that unlike other banks, even after u cancel your app( as the rep advised me to do on 1st app) the application is still on file & counts against u..

Well, you're welcome. And amen!

If it's a joint account, I would not worry about it.

I'd ask the second part of your question here:

or

Thank you very much!
