HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

I don't think this is an issue but it can't hurt to bounce it off the people here.... If I have 2 weeks until the first statement closes, and I have spent~$10100 so far would returning 3 or 4 purchases totaling about $400 and then spending an additional $300 on the card be any sort of problem? Is I it only once they already give you miles for those purchases or even before....
Can anyone weigh in?

I don't think it's a problem that's normal to return.

I have same limit, did reloads right away, and then mixed in just a few normal charges

I wouldn't be concerned. Citi's pain threshold is higher that other some banks, (although not unlimited).

Only glanced over the FT thread but have not seen any reports of closures. Anyone find this odd?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Any returned merchandise now puts you at risk for an AA A/A.
There must be huge numbers of this due to this high threshold on this card.
If i make a return before statement closes that's an issue?
For example went to gas station and they refunded amount didn't use
