HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

If I were Citi and AA, and I wanted to draw out all the scammers, what would I do? I would create a bonus bigger than anyone has seen in a while, say 100k miles, and I would make it for a card with a really high AF to incentivize people to want to close the card and beat the AF, and I would make the threshold really high, say $10k in 3 months, so people will be tempted to do wild things to get big spending fast. And once they've all taken the bait, I'd shut 'em all down permanently! Basically, a roach motel for game players.
And then call Dan paying him 500 tuna sandwiches with pickles to scare everyone and not to reveal there's something boiling behind the scene.
Love me or hate me. I still love you.

It might have to do with this being the first time they have seen something like this.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

For those cancelling who had the AF hit already, would you pay off your bill except $450 or pay the whole thing, then cancel and do credit balance refund?

Is the a link to look up all of the acronyms? AF CVC and so on
Look here- http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=10531.0
What is the negative affect of having 3 pull per month? is it strictly on the score or are there other factors?
Its score and also banks see how many applications you have had in a given time frame and that may make you subject to denial and/or questioning the frequency of your asking for credit

Nobody reported AA shutting sown for CVS purchases. Someone referenced Chase doing so.

My $.02 for the n00bs is that if you are opening brand new accounts and have no history with the bank or airline, you shouldn't be doing these higher risk and slap in the face tactics. Opening cards and grabbing the bonus and shutting down right away. Leave the cards open a bit, establish a relationship and history with the bank, and then you don't need to worry as much about getting shut down over CVS purchases.

I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.
