HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

By the looks of it the burden of proof is not on them, it is on you. You just gotta hope that they let you off the hook.

I am trying to close my account, but would like to first transfer the credit line to another account. I am being told by Citi that it can be done, but would result in a hard credit pull, since it is processed with the same procedure as a request for a credit increase.
 Any comments?

I'm guessing you just forfeited the credit line, to avoid the chance of a pull?
Yes.

Try reading through this thread on FT - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/american-airlines-aadvantage-pre-merger/689350-account-audit-fraud-issues-busted-selling-miles-swu-vip-etc-consolidated-61.html

This was written on FT in regards to the friend-
Quote from: KennyBSAT;22558804
If you sold miles and got caught, you will likely lose your account and miles. Whether he is your friend or not makes no difference. If AA asked him questions and he gave them answers they didn't want to hear, he will lose his ticket and you will lose your miles.

2nd example of the alleged 60 day rule not applying to this this.
It was after 65 days.

First reports about this offer come from Jan 23-24th so not even 60 days ago.
How did you get your 3rd card that soon?
Does it mean the rules have changed?

It was also not 3 of the same card. The first card was matched to this offer.

weird

Have one card open w/ a very large balance on it (just reached 10k spend), and applied for the 2nd card. Received the standard message to call in, and when she checked the app, she said I was declined and will receive a letter in another week.

Anyone have experience HUCAing after this happening?
Any advice?
