HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

In case they ask, it's easier explaining opening a second card than explaining opening a card he just closed?!
...and you base this on what? People calling recon?

Nope. Just speculation based on my two cents (I know that's what I would've been more comfortable explaining).

Received the executive on 3/7
Finished spending by 3/10
First statement closed 3/11 - said 110k miles being transferred to Citi
Second statement closed 4/13 with annual fee posted 4/7 and still no miles in my AA account.

Talked to Citi who said the miles get deposited at the end of the bonus eligibility period, which seemed like a crock of lies to me....any ideas?

In a separate chat with Citi before they said they sent the miles over on 3/13. Also confirmed they had the right AA account number.

Think you can use the forgot password option and use the email you signed up with.

Does the citi executive card offer any type of purchase protection?
I just used a different one of citi's programs for return protection. It's called 60 day return guarantee. I bought a pair of shoes that are wearing terribly and I filed a claim with them. They are requesting receipt and shoes and giving me my $ back. It's a free program on the aa exec card but you need to add it under your benefits by your card

Just chatted with citi again and they fed me a similar line: "The rewards of this enrollment program will be updated in the 4th statement as it is offered for first 3 months of cardmembership." They also noted I was a new account. I wonder if its a measure to avoid early card cancellation...

Anyone else run into this problem?

EDIT:
Ok so apparently there is an issue where they have to verify every account with AA - of course this happened 3 days after my statement closed. They assured me it will post on the next statement closing (nicest lady on the phone from SD) which luckily barely keeps me inside the 37 days from the fee posting. Phew!

My cycle closed on 22 and was missing 11.90 (they were still pending) to meet the spend threshold. Anyways, they only transferred 5992 miles to AA. What does this mean?
