Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Did anyone have to deal with answering why you need more than one card? If yes what did you say?
so far not, he even said he has to look over my 4 other accounts before moving some credit over and approving me

How far off can you potentially extend the closing date? My new card just arrived in the mail yesterday, and my account is set up with a next closing date of 7/24/14.

thx
If you extend it to the 5th, you might be pulling it back not forward.

What's the minimum credit line they will approve this card with? I need to know how much to clear from other cards in case they want to move credit.

Spend like crazy.  Get your first statement.  (a) annual fee is on it. (charged last day of billing cycle.)  You have up next statement closing date to spend the 10K.   Stement closes.  100K bonus posts.  Close card within 37 days of AF posting.  (b) annual fee is NOT on it.  you have an extra month for the whole process.
Some have reported that if they call in the first month to move the statement closing date,  the AF will not post on that statement.

Does anyone know how long it typically takes from the time that you meet the $10k threshhold till the 110k miles post? Does the balance have to be paid before the miles will post?

thx

The three months to spend, is it from approval date, application date, or activation date?

My statment just closed,  and it mistakenly counted a 2500 dollar returned payment as a purchase, though it obviously didn't count for the bonus miles. Is there any way to either get the annual fee waived ? Or what happens if I meet the spend in the next few days, then close the account, will they give me the bonus miles at the end of the statment ? Even though the account is closed ?

I don't think anyone has ever taken the risk. If you don't though report back. :)

Hey everyone! I made a really, really stupid mistake, and if anyone can help me fix this I'd be very grateful! (Also a heads up to other newbies)

I only spent a drop over $9,900 on the executive card within the 3 months… I know, right??

My mistake was seeing "New balance: $10,150" on my first statement. When I saw that, I thought I was good!!! By the time I spent the last $100, it was well past the 3 months.

Yes yes, I now know that this included the annual fee. And yes, I know that it doesn't count towards the minimum spend.

btw, the card is still open.

Direct message and phone didn't work..

Any advice would be really appreciated!

Not sure what you mean with "right b4 the statement closes", but why close the card if there's no AF?
