HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

I'm looking to apply for the Citi AA card and have two questions: (never had any citi cards before, current lineup = Chase Ink, Chase Sapphire Preferred, and United, Amex Blue Cash, Mastercard)

1. What other cards should I apply concurrently with it?
2. I just applied for a car loan, and due to the bank screwing up some information, had to submit my information twice and had my credit pulled twice (was approved for the loan, credit in the mid 700's)-- should I wait a bit before trying to apply?

Thanks!

I'll leave #1 to more experienced people.

Mastercard is not very descriptive of a card. What bank?

Regarding 2 pulls, if that's all that's there, I wouldn't worry, though you should be able to get the bank to remove one of them.

All car loan inquiries within a certain time are counted as one pull.
Same for mortgage.

I mean within a month or something longer than a day.  It might even be all mortgage inquiries within 3 months are counted as one.
ETA:  I just checked. The way I understand it: It seems that when it comes to  inquiries for car, mortgage or student loans, all inquiries within 30 days are counted as one by the credit scoring bureaus.

I applied for a platinum citi card and got rejected b/c i had an executive card approved back when they were giving out 100k for it. (I did read the wiki from FT but somehow missed out that that part :-[ ) They pulled from experian and equifax (I live in NY). I was just wandering if there is any way i could dispute it by saying that it was a mistake b/c i didn't realize the company policy not to give credit within a certain amount of time of a different card? or is that a ridiculous idea?

The regular Citi AA card comes with 1 free bag per person.
Free for first year, then $95.
Do authorized users also get free luggage? (When flying w/o the primary cardholder.)
