Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Question: I am trying to close down a bunch of cards in order to reapply in 1-2 years. I have the Citi AA card and now the Barclays Aviator card, can I close down the Citi AA and not lose any benefits. The main one I am concerned about is the 10k mileage redemption bonus when booking award tickets, but i see that the aviator also offers that... Thanks for your insight.

I have both cards and it seems to me like the Aviator has the Citi AA benefits and more.

Citi requires a credit hit to shift credit, correct? Think it is worth it to close down even though i wont be applying for a new card and just lost the credit or should i wait until  iam ready for another aor?

people have done hilton and aa on same day.

I did Hilton and Thank You on the same day. Hilton was approved immediately and when I called about Thank You they said I can't be approved for 2 cards in one day.  If anyone has a different experience, please share as i will call Citi back and argue with them  ;)

No point in arguing, you won't get anywhere. Citi doesn't allow 2bm's, the only exception is a Business and Personal.

Can I have my same online login with Citi for my personal and business card (like Chase)? Or do they require separate logins?

I don't. Tried setting up a separate login, and it said that some of my info is incorrect. Been on the phone for over an hour and still not fixed. They have no idea what's wrong  :-\

What are the most current time-restriction rules in applying for all Citi cards?

Only 1 Citi application of any kind per week (8 days to be safe).
No more than 2 Citi applications of any kind in 60 days (65 days to be safe).
No more than 1 Citi business application in 90 days (95 to be safe).

Only if you have a citi checking account.

I have a citi checking and needed to have he business card separate.

Are you talking from experience? Would love to combine them...

I had the same thing a few weeks ago. From what the rep told me, it seems like they have a much higher standard to approve a business card. Send a letter to Stork. I did that, and I got a call 10 days later that I was approved.

I wrote a couple of paragraphs about why I wanted that specific card (perks etc.), why I needed a business card, and then just spoke about how I've been a good customer to Citi because I always pay bills in full and on time, good credit score etc. I didn't mention anything about sign-up bonus because many people here in the forums have said to never talk about bonus when calling the recon. dept.
