HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Quick question-- is the 10% miles redemption maxed out at 10k per calendar year or cardmember year?

Checked out the FT thread but couldn't get a clear answer on this. I have a Citi Gold AA (applied April 25th), and now received a targeted Gold AA application. If I use the targeted Gold AA app, will I be able to get the bonus on the second Gold AA card?
YMMV some reports on FT say they got the bonus with targeted offer within the 18 month restriction

Have the Citi AA Business card but want to close it. Will the drop in total available credit affect my credit score like it does with a personal account, or will it not because banks don't report utilization rates on business cards? Basically asking if there are any general suggestions and tips before I go ahead and close the card (I've never closed a Citi or business card before).

Thanks!

you're personal total amount of credit will not be reduced. It also never went up when you first got the biz card.

Got it, thanks. Has anyone ever had success getting a retention offer? I plan on trying anyways, but just curious if people have gotten it.

I opened citi AA platinum card April 15, and Hilton card on May 4th. Per the new citi rules, I can apply for a new card ( as long as it's a different card ) 60 days from April 15th. Is my calculation correct ?

Yes you will be OK - their systems can be a bit weird with date counting, so while the rule as such, is 2 apps per 60 days, it is safer to wait 3-5 days more.

As your 1st app was April 15, to be 99.999% sure, apply tomorrow rather than today (although I would think today you are 99.9% good :D

If you have not applied for the AA Executive card yet, then OK to do this one - you will have 37 days after the annual fee posts to cancel and get refund. This was a lovely card to churn, but does seem that has come to an end.

Any way to get around the AA Citi Business once per lifetime language? Even the one in the Wiki now has it, plus its 30K.  Does opening new FF #s get around any of this, or is that just Chase.

Ok, read that but the language was throwing me off. How would an account not be fully closed if I called to cancel the card?

If statement closed on the 17th, that means the AF should have posted on the 16th, finish your spend ASAP before next statement and you'll have 6 days still to cancel and get AF back.
