HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Might want to do it sooner than later before Bowtie's actions take affect.
That's why I grabbed it Thursday.

A few months ago I received duplicates of my AA cards. I was clueless about why they sent me extras. It wasn't even a difference regarding chip/no-chip. Now I'll go check again.

I saw on FT ppl saying they applied to platinum after W changed to WE and did not got the bonus after spending.
I applied last week got yesterday in the mail the welcome/approval/benefit letter and it does mention that i will get 50k after spending.
Does it mean that i for sure will get the bonus or is there still a possibility for a disappointment?

If you got the letter stating the bonus, you'll forsure get the bonus.

Anyway, as is always with Citi, if you got the letter stating the bonus, you'll get the bonus.

I spent $2955 within the first 3 months. $45 shy of my sign up bonus on this card

HUCA didn't help because there is not much to talk about, thinking that I met the threshold I didn't spend much on this card for a while afterwards.
Should I cancel and sign up in a couple of months again?

Citi AAdvantage Platinum (50.000 points)

Don't cancel it, wait until they convert it from W to WE and then you can churn the W card again. See FT for more details.

Is it churning even if I never got the bonus?

My system for new cards is that I set an alert for "low available balance" when the threshold is reached. For example if I have $7,000 credit and I have to spend $3,000 for bonus then I set an alert when available balance is below $4,000. (This works on Chase. I haven't done Citi recently so I don't have their alert options clear off-hand.) It takes more focus if I run past the first payment due date before I reach the bonus amount but then I'll just have to stay more focused.

Why don't you wait and maybe go for a third once the second one gets converted (if not killed by then)?
