HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Citi just closed my first cc I got in 2006 Citi thank you card for inactivity of 24 months, they could reopen it but there will be a hard credit pull, is it worth it? It was also a high credit line
How old is your next oldest card? Can I assume the closed card has no AF?

i really don't remember, I think it's been quite a few years later. What's the best way to check? According to credit karma my score is over 800 but my age of credit history is poor
Correct no af card

My oldest cc (now 14) is a free Discover. My occasional use of it keeps it open and therefore helps my credit age by maybe 5 years.

What did you say? Called or SM?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Do I need to make sure new application is not world elite if I'm within 18 months? Where will it say that?

Both the same 100% accurate. Do you mind showing me what Amex Platinum info I wasn't accurate about?

You said you can use Targeted offer multiple times. I called 3 times today. They refused the offer because names don't match.

For AA: Do I need new AA #?

He was right about that. You just weren't successful in convincing the rep.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

What does uneasy mean? I should call 20 times? I can't lie about my name. They need it on the application.
