HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Can anyone confirm the following:

Does the WE card - if the loophole still works - need to be activated in order for the loophole to work? I received it in the mail a few weeks back but never activated it and since closed that account.

IIRC, FT Wiki says that as long as conversion took place, you're good.

1) 2/8/16
2) Yes. FWIW, I applied with an offer code.
3) Not sure what this is. I didn't yet link it to my online profile, it kept on erroring out for me.
4) Just got my card yesterday.

Offer codes usually don't have the 18 month language.

Biz card is EQ and EX? I'm in NY. Always freeze EX before citi apps, and they just take EQ. My EX is currently unfrozen, but curious if they'll even pull..

They'll probably pull both.

W:WE loophole: Reports on FT and Reddit that the new W welcome letters don't state the bonus and doesn't have a bonus tracker online.

Can anyone chime in with their own data points -
1) What date did you apply?
2) Which link did you use?
3) Does your new W welcome letter state the bonus?
4) Does your new W card have a bonus tracker?
5) If no, did you receive the bonus after completing the spend?

Edited.
