HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

No need for a code.
I just got matched today for the 60,000 offer...It seemed like from the SM that they were giving me the extra 10,000 miles right away, though it hasn't shown up in my account yet.

I have a new Citi AA threshold of 3k to finish (to get 50k AAdvatage miles,& book something  before the mAAsacre….), the problem is they only gave me CL of $2600, the statement closes on the 28th, they won’t accept a payment online more than the last statement balance (which is zero...),

IME that is not true.

Quote
will the 50k miles post in the middle of a statement cycle once completed the 3k spending? or is it wise to push a payment thru my bank?

No. Not an issue.

Is there an issue with having 2 AAdvantage  ff#s?
I never consolidated my wife's converted UA FF account with her original AA. This was never an issue because each one is under a different last name (Maiden and married). I just linked a new card that is connected to her FF# from her old UA account to her citi account with cards that are linked to her original AA. Will this be cause any issues?

Just got charged AF on my AA ex card. I've had this card for more than a year. I'm looking to downgrade any recommendations?

I would ask for a retention offer first. They gave me 15 thousand miles for 1000 spend

Damn, just got my last citi card and the statement closes on 3/25 :(. That means I won't get the points in time even to put something on hold. I can change the statement date a few days earlier but it might screw me over. Oh well...

Get AA to book something for you and put you in the negative once Citi confirms that you earned the points.

That's my one concern of why it may not work here. I did it after statement cut. Worth a try though.

Has anyone ever used Price Rewind (successfully) when they purchased a 4-pack of something and the only way the item comes up in their system is a 1-pack so you split up the per item price? Meaning, if let's say I bought a 4-pack of something for a total of $100 (comes out to $25 each) and then I create a price rewind but I only find the item in their system as a 1-pack and I find it for sale somewhere for $20. Will they refund me $5 x 4?
