Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

How long did it take for yours to go WE?  Got my W in 12/15; could I have just missed mine in the mail?

Just look on your online account to see if it's W or WE.

Yes, you could have missed it. Mine went WE within about 6 weeks of opening. Check your account online as it will state if they have "sent you a new card and that it has changed".

Much easier to just see the name of the card. See FT wiki for details.

Its just the letter so until I have the cards and see the tracker and actually GET the points I will stay a bit skeptical but from all the reports I am certainly not unhappy about the letter.

Yeah. People, don't throw out mail and cards. Check them and they say WE right on the back of them.

Strange.  There's nothing mentioned about them sending me a new card on my summary page, but when I use the other method from the FTW it says
"Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select®
Account ending in XXXX"

...which implies it's a WE.  My actual card is definitely a W though.

I have another 60k offer that came in my name that expires 3/15 that I want to use.  The language states "If you are an existing Citi/AAdvantage cardmember you are not eligible for this offer on your existing account."  Is that enforced?  Would a new FFN help?

ETA:  Apparently a bunch of conversions happened on 2/23.  I'm wondering if I was converted but they haven't mailed out the card yet.

Fair enough.  But the offer was sent to me and references my existing point balance.  I'll try and see if I can change the FFN on it once I confirm my conversion took place.

The way I understand "On your existing account" refers to your existing CC account.

Ok now I'm nervous. Where in my welcome letter should it say about the points?

Read through the entire Notice of Approval letter. If it doesn't mention the bonus, you're most likely not gonna get it.

What card are you referring to?

For the Platinum it will say that you receive XX points after XX spend somewhere in the middle of the letter.

Platinum Select.

Welcome letter is the one that comes when the card arrives?

The bonus is mentioned on the approval letter. Typically arrives a few days before the card.
