HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Waiting 5 days already for my bonus + spend to post, nothing yet.

On your statement, does it show the miles?

Did you put your FF number on the application?  If not, they might have opened a new FF account for you.

If you pay direct from an Amex prepaid card/BB/RC/Serve, you can find the full # there. Click on the payee, and hit edit.

You're card is a WE.

Citi bonuses have nothing to do with a new FFN. If you're eligible for the bonus, you'll get it on your old FFN, if you're not eligible for the bonus, you won't get it even on a new FFN.

Perfect.  I just ordered a replacement card to confirm it's a WE before I use my other 60k offer.  There's still no indication online that they sent me a new card.

No need for a new physical card to confirm if it's W or WE. Just look at the account name on your online account.

Right.. That indicates it's a WE.  But I can't find a single other DP where the language implies a WE but there's no record of a replacement card being sent out.

If it says WE, it is WE.

What?  The card?  It's a W.

The ONLY indication that it's a WE is the online language in the card description:  "Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select®
Account ending in XXXX"

There's is nothing stating a new card was sent.  I figure it's better to be safe and get a replacement card first.

No matter how much I trust D93  ;)

So, everyone who got that denied reason that AJK posted have not had any success getting approved via recon? I know a letter to Stork is always an option, but last time I tried that for AA Biz, it didn't work. (Got letter back that my credit is not good, etc.)

FTR, on all my W:WE churns, I never waited for the new WE card to arrive. Once my account said "Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select®" I went for the churn.
If you are so nervous, call Citi and tell them you lost your card and have them overnight you a new one.

Did your account ever have the green flag stating a new card was mailed out?  And I did, it's coming tomorrow :)

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
