HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

On my credit report, the downgrade of my AA Plat. to the Double Cash won't affect the actual account, right? It will still show as opened in 2014?

Correct.

Haha, ya right! No chance I believe that you purposely made a mistake and relied on the lawyer in me to correct you.  :P

And I happened to have missed your first post because it was on the previous page.

Is general consensus to call recon?  Just applied for another personal plat with a 60k code which expired today.

Yes. IME, recon is super easy with personal cards. They'll probably just ask you to shift over some of your existing CL.

Why's the average time it takes for the signup points to post to AA after statement closing?

If you see the bonus points on your statement, they should show up in your AA account within 24-48 hrs.

Thanks,
Any chance in getting AA to book a ticket before points come in? The ticket hold is expiring 48 hours after statement closing. Just in case of delays in wondering if it would be possible to get them to do it.

Yes, but major PITA to get it done. Took me hours. Wait until statement closes and points are officially earned, call Citi Customer Service, tell them you want to book a flight but need the points. They should call AA Customer Service who will call AA Reservations to book you and let you be in the negative. You have to land on a good rep though. A lot of them don't know about it.

Grrr, my luck...  2 reps and they still want 2 days to review.  Even with an offer to shift credit.

Wow. Did you lower CL from other cards before you applied?

Nope, my mistake.  I have quite a bit of credit with them too.  I see no reason I won't be approved, just don't want to wait.

citi matched the 10k AA biz app from 50 to 60

With milage devaluation on new apps, i feel like citi should give us a 10% courtesy ? ;)
