HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

No. Send them an SM asking when the spending deadline is.
That means there won't be one to 100% IME. Id be happy for SM to prove me wrong but every report I have seen without graph meant no bonus.
I've seen reports otherwise.

So? Thats it? Close all my CIti AA Plats and wait two years?

What are the risks of closing Citi cards that have been open less than a year?

I was  walking thru the airport and two young guys were hawking the citi platinum card with 50,000 points. They called me over and I explained that I have had the card for over 7yrs but never receive a bonus on it but I was wondering if its possible to get a 2nd card. One guy said yes reading the line that said You can get bonus if you have not opened or closed a cit platinum card within the last 18months. The other guy said he didnt think I would get it. I called citi but was on hold for over 20min and I hung up.  I have gotten misinformation from their customer service rep before so dont know if i would believe them 100%. So can anyone answer my question-do you think I can get the 50,000 points if i have a 7 yr old citi platinum card. Thanks for replies.

If you haven't opened or closed the card in the past 24 months, you'll get the bonus.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

I don't think the biz letters ever mention the bonus, you can call to confirm if bonus is attached.
