HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

IIRC Citi Executive doesn't give the 10% bonus on your AA redemption.
I just made an AA redemption, if I apply some time soon for the Plat. Select will I get 10% back from the beginning of this year even before I had the card? (I doubt it but just want to know.)
Unlikely since the T&C say that the card must be open at time of redemption.

Having said that, I'd still try calling since you also have Executive and see if you can get a nice manager to credit it for you.

I am sure this is somewhere in the thousands of posts... Do you need to book tickets with their AA card to get free luggage or can you just show card at the airport

I believe it may be linked to the AA FFN number. Make sure you have that on reservation, but you can probably get them to do it at airport with some nudging.

I think it used to be in the Wiki here...Is there a time I have to wait for apply for different Citi AA cards? (Hilton to AA)
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Is that in a Wiki for one of the major threads?

There is a link in this wiki to the FT wiki that explains it all.

Quick question, which I can't find in the wiki.
Can I do a 2 or 3 b/m with citi cards and if so which ones should I do?
I've never had any citi cards and I don't have a business.

Sorry if it is clearly stated elsewhere just can't seem to find clear answer. Seems like FT forum says I have to wait to apply for citi platinum AA or other city AA since I applied for executive card in the summer. Am I still eligible for biz card bonus? Are there any other citi AA cards I can apply for now?

I've heard otherwise, but from just as unreliable of a source.

Is there any old Citi Executive links out there that don't have the new 18 month rule?

I just applied for a Citi platinum select card AA card a few days ago and I got the following message:

Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select®

Thank you. We have received your application and further processing is required at this time. You may check back in 24 hours to see if a decision has been determined. We will contact you within 1 week via mail/email regarding our decision. Thank you for requesting a Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select®.

I've been approved instantly for my other cards including Chase Saphire, Freedom, BA and Barclays USairways cards so I am therefore unfamiliar with this process, should I call recon already or should I wait until a week passes and see what happens? Additionally can I apply for other cards from other banks such as Chase in the meanwhile?
