Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

So you did:

AA personal + AA biz
then AA personal?

Did you get one pull for the 2BM?
that. One pull.
Not yet approved for the business though..

ETA I am unsure if the business app actually "processed". It looked ok, but I never got an email etc.

I did an amex 2bm today (spg and delta gold). My spg is pending. Can I do a Citi AA today for a mini-apporama while my spg is pending?
IOW, did Amex already pull my credit and won't even know about the citi ap today? Or best to chill until spg gets approved and then hit citi for an AA card?

Citi can die at any time. Amex probably won't need to pull again... I say do it!

Once you are going for it, maybe go for the business AA as well.

Wow! So much straightforward advice. Are you saying to do the personal and business together as a 2bm? I thought one week a apart is cool with Citi but not 2bm? And if so, which link? One of those blank FT links that are supposedly 50k or a clearly marked 40k?

As per a few post up-thread, a  2bm of personal and business seems to work. I have had success getting two personal cards a day apart and having the pulls merged as one. Probably YMMV though.

There looks like a 40k link in the wiki for the business. Not sure about a 50k.

On an AA card,  Citi clawed back (only on the statement) bonus miles too (for refundable AA ticket).
First time it happened to me.

Are they starting to catch us....?

Is there any reason to think that UA is safer? (#wishfulthinking)

Yup, as I said earlier, the party is over.
Though they don't claw back out of your AA account, but you'll have a negative 'balance' with Citi till you spend again.
Love me or hate me. I still love you.

They clawed back the cc signup bonus, or the aa flight bonus?

The good part is that you can have a negative on one card, but it won't count against you on your other card.
