HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Let me tell you something: this 50k app link has built-in approval coding. (if you follow the rules, of course).

Unbelievable :)

I applied on Aug 7th at 10:30PM PST and got instant approval. When can I apply again? Today?

If he didn't apply for any card for 65 days prior he's good to go today and wait another 65 days.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
Looks like your right.
In th MC app it says "new applicants"=churnable but it also says "this offer and is not available to existing cardmembers or recent applicants for a Citi® / AAdvantage® credit card" I only read the first part. -2 to me.

From th FT :
Quote
FAQ

1.   Are these cards churnable?
Yes. The general rules are:
Personal cards with the language "This offer is only valid for new accounts" can be churned repeatedly without restriction other than the general Citi application rules.
Personal cards with the language "is not available to existing cardmembers" can be churned once Citi decides that you are no longer an existing cardmember. This usually occurs between 12 and 26 months of your last successful AA Personal Card approval. Although it is not a hard-and-fast rule, generally this occurs around 18 months after previous approval. YMMV. You do not need to cancel old cards.

From the MC App
Quote
*This Citi® / AAdvantage® card offer is only valid for new applicants for a Citi® / AAdvantage® account made pursuant to this offer and is not available to existing cardmembers or recent applicants for a Citi® / AAdvantage® credit card.

You can only link it if your current account is also a AA card, otherwise you need a new login.

I applied for my first and ever citi cards 3-4 months ago .. when 2bm was still alive ...

I got both the
Citi Plat select AA Visa - 50k
Citi Select AA Amex 50k

Both are still active ...  I'm trying to determine my next move .. from my understanding reading all the above... Is the right move to apply for the Cti Plat select AA visa 50k (via live link) again ... then maybe go after a business card a few days after ?  or play it safe and apply for a mastercard or something...

Should I cancel any of my existing accounts beforehand ...
Pleas hold. Your call will be answered in the order it was received.

I was about to type an answer. I'm not lazy to answer.
I just want that you read the last 5 pages of this thread. I promise you that you won't have any questions.
I'm writing a long comment, so you won't think that I was just lazy to answer your question. It's pretty simple.
I hope that it was understood. Lets not have a thread of repetitive questions.
