HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Amex only has nowadays 2 cards worth a pull, BRG and MB plat. How the mighty have fallen.
The regular plat and the PRG aren't worth it. Same goes for the starwood cards and the Delta.

Why not? You can get the PRG and upgrade to Plat for 25K MR + 200 airline dollars, AND get the MB platinum every year. And what's wring with 60K SPG?

You're thinking of the BGR upgrade link

My question was in response to your allegation.

Never mind that the plethora of 100k ads probably did more damage than "the bloggers"
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

You're thinking of the BGR upgrade link

And 60k starwood for 10k isn't such a deal and you have that FR looming.
And it's not like you can get the bonus every year. More like every 15 months.

As someone above said, Citi is only good because of their incompetence. Just give it a week with bloggers publicizing it (not talking about you here) and all of this is dead for good.
Chase is all official offers.

Dan has done 3BM and 4BM for Amex with SPG Per/Bus, BGR, PGR

All for one pull, why wouldn't you? Decent points are decent points

Pulls from equifax in NY which no one else really does so its kinda "hit-free" plus it's churnable.

So all you guys that are getting 1 CC per pull are from NY?
Where do they pull from in NJ?
I'm trying to understand how it's worth a pull for 1 card and then another pull 9 days later..
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

But otherwise I agree, Amex doesn't have much worth getting these days.
-1 in my personal opinion.
I get tremendous value from transferring MR-BA, (every transfer of 1k counts since short haul redemptions are so cheap) especially during their sporadic promotions of 25-50% transfer bonus's
And no FRs with Citi.

Yah the FR issue is a bit of a hassle

Still trying to get a handle on this.
If I do a 2bm pers and bus, does that count as one app or only one pull but two apps?
Will I still be able to apply for a 2nd pers card after 8/9 days?

Get a life.

I'd rather have this thread go off topic than talking and talking about it till MMS is going to suspect something is going on here that has not been killed yet.

And yes, call. They're super nice.
