Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

I am still not sure how safe it is for me to send just 3k but clearly cv who was getting 4 digit checks every month from citi was putting a lot more than 3k on his card.
Of course the cash back doesn't interest me too much, this is ddf and I just want my sign up bonus :P

You probably don't need to worry if you just spend 6k at cvs. I remember seeing one guy on ft day he spent 140k within 6 weeks. That's a totally different level.
(was that you cv? )

That would be low for CV!  ;D
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

Citi is willing to give as many cards as you want...

From FT:

Quote
My wife had:
3 X AA Visa Personal
1 X AA MC Personal
1 X AA AmEx Personal
2 X AA Business
1 X HH Personal

And got a fourth AA Visa Personal card in early July.

He should try for a fifth.

I get that, but its still money to them, shouldn't they care even w 1x miles? (Especially for meeting spend limits to get bonus)

All the reports as far as I know of people getting shut down by Citi were for TYP cards with x5 on them.

Citi doesn't care what you buy with a x1 card.

Citi wild links don't live forever. They die and new ones appear. I doubt that the new terms are only on this card. I'm willing to vouch that if you use the 50k MC link that it will also work and you'll be approved even though you have other AA cards within 18 months.

It went through but they can only process one per day (as usual), and i applied for the Visa as well, anything i can do to get it approved?
Does HUCA work with Citi?
Should I call back Today or tomorrow?

Try the online chat. You can sometimes Chat with recon after you try to find out  application status. Don't wait you may get an extra pull .

I am not sure that's necessary. Doesn't a Chat option open on the application page?  If not try to find out the status of the app, and see if Chat window opens , or is an option.
I may be be wrong as I did have existing cards , but assumed it was available to all
